- Lab Update
- Starting to work on 2D source mover
- Scott demoed the control for Michael and me. The source mover can rotate out of place as you move the housing around. We came up with the idea of a pin to hold it in place (see Feb 25 diary), which you would remove just before raising tower into MC can.
- The lead collimator cup that was built to hold the source in the 2D source mover doesn't have a big enough ID for the source. We damaged it trying to set up to bore the hole out more, so probably need a new one from the CSE shop.
- Investigated (and maybe repaired) dead Side1pB on S104
- see Feb 25 diary
- To wirebond one side of this channel I repurposed a pA stadium as a “hopscotch” pad
- Bond to DIB attached to left side of stadium; bond to pF pad attached to right side
- Resistance from one side of stadium to other is around 60 Ohm at room temp
- hypothesis - there's no metal connection across the stadium, that 60 Ohm is through the crystal - which becomes open at sub-K
- Replaced the hopscotch-to-pF-pad wirebond so that now it's bonded to the stadium close to the other bond
- Total resistance at DIB is 378 Ohm, around 60 Ohm less than before. So maybe it will work this time…
- New LakeShore resistance bridge with scanner arrived. Looking today at how to hook it up. It may be easiest to remove the cable ends from the fridge cables (currently round 26-wire military connectors) with D-sub connectors that came with the scanner.
