- Lab Update
- Have had some noise problems - noise increases by an order of magnitude or more (always worst in q4, the center channel). Sometimes it goes away but not sure what causes it to appear and what fixes it.
- Tests trying to apply bias to Side2 from a power supply failed - connecting caused a huge amount of noise. Connecting to a 9V battery instead showed no indication that we were actually increasing the bias. Again this suggests that we are not connected to Side2.
- At +11V we finally see a 60keV peak, and some indication of the time-varying impact ionization observed in Run 67. Some plots here
- Estimated charge collection efficiency versus bias from the muon bulge. 50% at +11V. Based on Run67 curves, this suggests that at a DCRC bias of +11V the effective bias is only around 1.5 V.
