Gopher: Geant4 detector Monte Carlo

We use Geant4 version Name: geant4-09-03-ref-00 (18-December-2009)

1. Select “starting point” to modify and make sure it works.
   • CDMSmini_4.9 from CVS, GNUmakefile is corrected
2. Put proper geometry:
   1. “outside” pieces: detector can and stem
   2. Ge crystal inside the can
   3. add shield
   • Some plots and results of Gopher's G4 MC.
3. How to run in batch mode?
4. What quantities to save?
5. Run simulation with efficiency calibration sources (UMN Amer kit). Does it look as expected?
6. Simulate background spectra in a fashion similar to Gator.

I have corrected CDMSmini_4.9 from CVS following what Dennis Wright updated in CDMSmain_4.9 to work under geant4-09-03-ref-00. GNUmakefile was substituted with the one from Tarek (it doesn't have external libraries, but, I guess, it's fine). The code compiles and execute successfully. This, updated CDMSmini_4.9 will serve as a template for Gopher's MC located at gopher/gopher_4.9.3 .

Work-in-progress questions:

• Only Ge crystal is our sensitive detector?

• MC code from Jesse Angle is at /home/hep/oleg/geant4_user/gopher/legacy/fromJesse_482_GeDetector. The simulation runs on Geant4.8.2. It doesn't work with 4.9.3.
• SOLO code that I got from Angie is at /home/hep/oleg/geant4_user/gopher/legacy/SOLO. I don't know whether it was used as it is, but it's something to start with.
• Gator code from Alfredo is at /home/hep/oleg/geant4_user/gopher/legacy/GatorMC. It doesn't compile with 4.9.3.
