Effective attenuation length measurement
Notes on run
Some issues were encountered over late last week and the weekend. Photoelectron counts with the PTFE backing on the rear were about 1000 PE lower than when done with a black rear. I tried a variety of things to figure out the cause. I remeasured the single PE peak of the PMT at 1800V, and while it was slightly different, it was not the reason for the difference. It turns out that while Tanmay and I use the same procedure for wrapping and mounting samples, there is some procedural difference that results in significantly lower PE counts when Tanmay wraps it vs when I do. We still have to figure out what exactly it is.
Additionally, after measuring the new PE peak (new = 0.0223 nVs, old = 0.0203 nVs), counts for both the black and PTFE rear were adjusted using the correct PE peak.

Effective Attenuation Lengths (unloaded sample)
With black = (12.7 +/- 1.0) cm (red. chi sq. = 2.766)
With PTFE = (24.9 +/- 2.1) cm (red. chi sq. = 0.642)
