100 mK can and MC spool installed yesterday
Go into clean room, take lid off of source mover housing, so Scott can see it and take measurements.
After polishing the 30 mK can (top surface, outer surface, bottom edge) with Scotch Brite and cleaning with methanol, install 30 mK can. The tower thermometer wire tends to hang in the cutout on the bottom of the spool, thus in danger of contacting the 600mK rod. Tried taping it to the other side of the spool but it's pretty much impossible to get you fingers in the space between spool and the top of the 100mK can. Instead I temporarily taped it to the bottom of 100mK can on the opposite side from the 100mK rod. Then installed the 30mK can. To find the holes, I used longer bolts (1.25“) of the same thread to start - I could kind of get my hand up in the gap between the cans to feel for the hole in the MC spool. Scott helped hold it up - slightly easier as a 2-person job. After getting two of the long bolts slightly in it was easy to get the standard screws in (six brass screws 1/2” long). Torqued the screws. Removed the temporary tape holding the thermometer wire to the 100mK can, and taped it down with Kapton (“bandaid”-style) to the side of the 30mK can opposite the 600mK rod.
Put 1.5mm indium o-ring on top of middle IVC section (after cleaning o-ring surface again - also Scotch-Brite polished the bottom o-ring surface, since it may have gotten scratched during disassemble, polishing in a tangential-not-radial direction). As 2-person job (much easier than 1-person) lifted it into place and got two of the 24 bolts snugged on.
Tighten bolts on top of middle IVC section several times around, mostly tightened now.
