- Lab in-person: Ruiren
- Virtual partner: Matthew
| Setup | Run 73. DIB 1/3/4 → Stripline 43/48/41 → pi-filters 1/2/3 → Cable 3/1/2 → nothing/nothing/accessory_interposer → HV_Conn 1/3/2 → HV 1/2 → DCRCX(4)/DCRC55(1)-master; DCRC33(2) → HV control. DCRCs on. Lead/poly shield erected (4 lead walls, 2 poly walls). |
|---|---|
Tower = 66.0 mK. Over the last 2 hours it has swung up from 62.4 mK.
Tower temperature wandering, waiting, hoping it will settle so we can try taking more data
MB = 67.8%
Phonon channels are a little hard to set, maybe just because the temperature is unstable? But let's zap.
Zap DCRC1&4 SQUIDs
Ruiren Shi body temperature = C 36.7
fill LN2 cold trap dewar
some connection issue with LabView
after restarting the LabView program, everything goes back to normal
| At the same time the LabVIEW problem was occurring, something caused the tower to warm to as high as 0.2 K, it seems. But it's cooling…. | |
Tower/MC/Coldplate = 154/57/203 mK, Still = 1.50 K / 0.130 mbar / 0 mW, G1/G2= 240/231 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.62 K / 22±2 mbar.
Ruiren leaves lab
Tower = 76.6 mK, seems to still be cooling
Tower = 66.3 mK, cooling in a steady curve.
Tower = 64.8 mK, still cooling
Tower = 63.3 mK, still cooling
Tower = 62.4 mK. Finally looks like it's flattening.
Start a 60 min series at HV = -300V, drifting 0.0305 V/s, prebias 15% for 2min, CDMS detector: Driver Gains = 1x, DCRC4/1 QET biases = (0,235, 285, 0)/(0, 315, 295, 320)uA, Front-End Gains = (3/3/3)/(5/5/5) 1000 BOR & 5 Hz in-run randoms, trigger on DCRC1pD threshold = 8 Use RootSequencer.c, function drift_sequence(300,0.0305)
Tower = 62.4 mK
Vtest = -4.8 mV shortly after drift begins. Rootsequencer says drift starts at -315.56 V. 0.61% HV loss.
Tower = 62.2 mK. Adjust QET biases to (0,240, 285, 0)/(0, 320, 295, 320)uA
Tower = 62.0 mK. Adjust QET biases to (0,240, 290, 0)/(0, 320, 300, 325)uA
double-click Arduino_Create_Bridge - Shortcut on desktop. Log into https://id.arduino.cc/. Go to Web Editor and select Monitor. Enter command help, the Arduino responds.
crap! This causes Tower temperature to shoot up to 0.5 K, then starts to cool. I forgot about that. Abort sequence with ctrl-c in Root. Then manually stop run on MIDAS page and turn off logger in ODB. Got 44 minutes of data.
Use RootSequencer function changeq() to step DCRC2qI back up to 11.59 (i.e. HV down to 0V).
|---|---|
Tower has cooled to 89 mK
Do rd dwell, it says 15 ms. Set Dwell to 40 ms.
Move source -4×26 steps with 4 minute pause after each move, mvNwait -4 240 26 This should move the source to y = -19.712 mm warm (-19.622 mm cold, after correction for differential contraction). That should point right in the gap between pF and pD. Total sequence should take 1hr 44min, ending at 01:18 am.
| First move cause Tower spike to 1.15 K. Falls to 0.24 K before second move. That's a lot lower than in previous moves - usually only falls to 0.85 K between spikes. Is something wrong? Maybe power supply voltage is low, and the source isn't really moving. We'll have to check that tomorrow. Should be 8.0 V. | |
Between 2nd and 3rd move, Tower only falls to 0.65 K. OK maybe this is normal.
