Previous Day

  • Lab in-person: Zach
  • Virtual partner: Matt
Setup Run 73. DIB 1/3/4 → Stripline 43/48/41 → pi-filters 1/2/3 → Cable 3/1/2 → nothing/nothing/accessory_interposer → HV_Conn 1/3/2 → HV 1/2 → DCRCX(4)/DCRC55(1)-master; DCRC33(2) → HV control. DCRCs on overnight. Lead/poly shield erected (4 lead walls, 2 poly walls).
0830 Tower = 50.2 mK
1050 Zach Williams body temp = 97.2
1110 Zach arrives at lab.
1112 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 50.1/36.2/186 mK, Still = 1.38 K / 0.12 mbar / 0 mW, G1/G2= 386/351 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.64 K / 26±2 mbar.
1032 MB = 30.6%
1120 Disconnected and reconnected DCRC1 (as well as programs) and zapped.
1130 Check phonon channels, adjust offsets. DCRC1pB no longer has an abnormal offset, that's a good sign.
1129 Start a 15 min series 0V,
CDMS detector: Driver Gains = 1x, DCRC4/1 QET biases = (0,320,370,0)/(0,360,420,420)uA, Front-End Gains = (3/3/3)/(5/5/5)
1000 BOR & 5 Hz in-run randoms, trigger on DCRC1pD threshold = 8
Use sequence SimpleDataLoopNoFlash.msl
1130 Tower = 50.5 mK
this temperature is a little lower than we've taken data before, and DCRC1pD may have more oscillations than usual, maybe triggering too much, but looks OK so far with BatViewer.
1131 Oops: did not have the triggering enabled, turn it on now
1135 Tower = 50.1 mK, it has cooled a little since the zap
1137 Lowering transfer line stinger into cryostat, this will probably show up as noise in the data
The DCRC restart seems to have fixed the high-energy gain suppression.
Gain is a little higher with today's data, probably from the lower temperature.
1141 Begin LHe transfer @ MB = 30.3%
1154 Filled LN2 cold trap dewar.
1215 Ended LHe transfer @ MB = 93.2%
1230 Write sequence for +100V at 33.2 mV/s with 1min pause after rampup.
HVdrift_pos100V_1min_33p2mVps_multiloop10_60min.msl
1236 MB = 93.0%
1237 Zach leaves lab.
1300 Zach Williams body temp = 97.1
1325 Tower = 54.8 mK. Set QET biases to middle-column values
1333 Start a 60 min series at HV = +100V, drifting 0.0332 V/s, 1min pause after rampup,
CDMS detector: Driver Gains = 1x, DCRC4/1 QET biases = (0,310,360,0)/(0,360,410,410)uA, Front-End Gains = (3/3/3)/(5/5/5)
1000 BOR & 5 Hz in-run randoms, trigger on DCRC1pD threshold = 8
Use sequence HVdrift_pos100V_1min_33p2mVps_multiloop10_60min.msl
1330 Tower = 54.8 mK
1334 Vtest = 5.7 mV shortly after drift begins. Drift appears to start at +101.1 V. 2.3% HV loss.
1440 Vtest = 9.4 mV, HV = 219.6 V, drift ends. 1.7% HV loss, good. Lag ratio = 1.1ish.
1440 Tower = 55.2 mK.
  • It's hard to see anything in this data - it looks like the threshold was too low, it was triggering constantly.
2150 Noise was looking kinda bad in DCRC1pD. Tried Zapping the SQUIDs, seems like maybe it's better. Doesn't seem to be triggering excessively at the standard threshold of 8.
2150 Tower = 55.4 mK
not sure, channel still seems to have spikey noise. I'll look at it more tomorrow.
The new spikey noise is evident in the much higher PFWKmax seen in randoms
we need to check if this is unique to +100V but I don't think so
