Previous Day

  • Lab in-person: Matt
  • Virtual partner: Zach
0926 Matt Fritts body temperature = 96.9 F
1020 Matt arrives in lab
Continuing to work on the IVC leak at the stripline tube elbow. Have covered the elbow vacuum joints with Q-compound.
Tried feeding more Q-compound into the gap at the top of the elbow between the elbow and the fridge top a few times. Push it in against the fridge with the handles of allen keys.
Controlled helium bleed through needle, around gap, get signal rising about 40 pbarL/s from base of 60 pbarL/s.
Curious about the two fridge seals that are just above this gap. Put some vac grease in the joints of those seals on the east side (stripline side), trying to rule out leaks at those seals. Grease did not change signal, so probably it is not those seals.
Blasts from the hose for <1s cause rises around 300 pbarL/s
1212 Matt leaves lab.
