| 1400 | Try to mount 100mm contact free electrode in 100mm source housing. |
|---|
| 1410 | Realize we don't have the right clamps and spacers for 100mm [image not archived: doubt.svg]. We have a bunch of extra 150mm parts, which are shaped like those on the right in the image below. Of course 100mm hardware is different. A 100mm spacer is below on the left. The 150mm housing has 12 sides and the clamps and holes for threaded rods are in alternating corners of the housing. The 100mm housing has 6 sides with both the clamps and threaded rods in each corner. We could either ask around for extra pieces from other groups or borrow some clamps and spacers from detectors on hand such as USD1. |
|---|
| 1545 | Scavenged half the clamps and spacers from the USD1 housing. So six clamps. From the lid side: 1 spacer each, 3 different thicknesses: 0.017, 0.010, 0.005 inches. From the crown side: 2 spacers each. Thicknesses 0.002, 0.010, 0.005, 0.010, 0.005, 0.010 inches. |
|---|---|
| so, not enough total spacer thickness. Want 0.080 inches per post. Above gives something like 0.030 inches each for 3 posts. | |
| consider next scavenging G132 (iZIP v7 prototype). Relatively unlikely to run this one again, if we want a 100mm iZIP probably would use G106a. | |
| 1645 | Removed one clamp from each side of G132 housing. Found one 0.010 inch spacer on one side, one 0.017 inch spacer on the other. So if we took a total of 6 clamps off this detector too, we'd probably have about 0.057 inches each for 3 posts. Not as much as we'd want. |

| 1610 | Open V9 and turn on 3He pump again, to get all mixture in dump, do another measurement like yesterday. |
| 1630 | G2(dump) has crept up from about 707 mbar to 713 mbar |
| 1650 | G2(dump) has crept up to 715.3 mbar Barometric pressure is 30.32 so adjusted dump pressure is 728.8 mbar (and still rising) End of last run (20181011) it was 735.5 mbar. |
| so it could be that we haven't lost any mixture. But the most conservative thing is to pump the G1 and P1 volumes back to dump. It will mean a little more cleaning will be needed. | |
| actually maybe I'll just pump G1 to dump. P1 is the still pumping side, that's a lot of volume, all the way to the gate valve. More likely to just be air that has leaked in. | |
| 1700 | Open V5 to pump G1 contents to dump. Before opening valve, G2(dump) = 716.2 mbar, G1 = 80.0 mbar. G1 pumps down quickly but the increase in G2(dump) is unnoticeable. |
| 1710 | G2(dump) = 717.0, barometric 30.3, adjusted dump pressure = 729.9 mbar. |
| 1715 | Close valves and turn off 3He pump. |
