Previous Day

Overnight bake using IR LEDs on DIB4. Tower was steady at 500mK until the bake ended at 0800
0908 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 75.3/62/392 mK, Still = 1.3 K / 0.13 mbar, G1/G2 = 144/130 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.67 K / 50 mbar. MB = 18.9%
0918 Fill LN2 cold trap full. Dewar ran dry.
0930 Reduce phonon channel trace lengths by a factor of 16. In ms, that's 3.2768→0.2048; in samples, that's 4096→256. In the units that the MIDAS ODB uses, its 8192→512, because it counts half-samples.
0935 Dial up INSTEK power supply voltage to 30 V on electrode
0937 Start data series of contact-free/readout=30V/0V -30V/0V data with DIB1/3/4 = DCRC 1/none/2 = master/none/slave, 1000 beginning randoms, and a 50ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1 q[1] = qC.
0941 Check on BatViewer, seems to be triggering too frequently. Increase trigger threshold from 50 → 70.
0946 Check on BatViewer, still seems to be triggering too frequently. Increase trigger threshold from 70 → 90.
0950 Check on BatViewer, still seems to be triggering too frequently. Increase trigger threshold from 90 → 120.
0953 Check on BatViewer, still seems to be triggering too frequently. Crazy. Increase trigger threshold from 120 → 150.
1005 Stop the run to investigate. Set beginning of run randoms to 0, turn off logger and start run while watching pulse viewer. Triggering looks fine here. Reducing trigger threshold back to 50 seems about right…
1007 Start data series of contact-free/readout=30V/0V -30V/0V data with DIB1/3/4 = DCRC 1/none/2 = master/none/slave, 1000 beginning randoms, and a 50ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1 q[1] = qC.
1012 Check on BatViewer, triggering well now, but on positive DCRC1 QO pulses. Given the bias, and the DCRC, we expect negative pulses here. Could be that it has already lost neutralization and flipped. See 1058. Not sure why the triggering is better now. Could be related to having used the SQUIDTuningGUI. In the past, interactions with the GUI (or multiple instances of it at once) has caused this kind of rapid triggering.
1020 Stop run.
1022 Flash for 30s with DIB4 LEDs.
1042 Start data series of contact-free/readout=30V/0V -30V/0V data with DIB1/3/4 = DCRC 1/none/2 = master/none/slave, 1000 beginning randoms, and a 50ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1 q[1] = qC
1052 Check on BatViewer, again triggering too frequently. Close SQUIDTuningGUI to see if that helps.
1058 OOOoooohhh. We've actually been biasing at -30V, so we do expect positive pulses. Not sure what's up with this triggering though.
Stop run
1059 Start data series of contact-free/readout=-30V/0V data with DIB1/3/4 = DCRC 1/none/2 = master/none/slave, 1000 beginning randoms, and a 50ADC bin threshold
1105 Check on BatViewer, triggering well now on positive pulses as expected given this bias.
1107 Fill LN2 cold trap full.
1129 Stop run
1131 Flash for 30s with DIB4 LEDs.
1146 Start data series of contact-free/readout=+30V/0V data with DIB1/3/4 = DCRC 1/none/2 = master/none/slave, 1000 beginning randoms, and a 50ADC bin threshold
1213 Stop run
1214 Flash for 30s with DIB4 LEDs.
1225 Start LHe transfer (MB = 13.9%)
1336 Finish LHe transfer (MB = 92.8%)
1403 Start data series of contact-free/readout=+30V/0V data with DIB1/3/4 = DCRC 1/none/2 = master/none/slave, 1000 beginning randoms, and a 50ADC bin threshold
1415 Check on BatViewer, triggering well on negative pulses as expected given this bias.
1451 Check on BatViewer, pulses are both positive and negative and trigger rate has fallen.
1453 Stop run, flash for 30s with DIB4 LEDs.
1510 Play around with using the 1kV kepco supply to bias. Earlier I had been using GND/+ which introduced 60Hz noise. If we use -/+ (or use GND/+ with - shorted to GND) the 60Hz noise goes away and the noise overall looks similar to that with the Instek 30V supply.
1516 Start data series of contact-free/readout=+50V/0V data (w/1kV supply) with DIB1/3/4 = DCRC 1/none/2 = master/none/slave, 1000 beginning randoms, and a 50ADC bin threshold
1521 Check on BatViewer, triggering well on negative pulses as expected given this bias.
1608 Stop run
1609 Measure V_leak = 0.00 mV at V_applied = 50 V
1611 Flash for 30s with DIB4 LEDs.
1638 Start data series of contact-free/readout=+30V/0V data (w/1kV supply) with DIB1/3/4 = DCRC 1/none/2 = master/none/slave, 1000 beginning randoms, and a 50ADC bin threshold
1800 Stop data. Went a lot longer than it needed to. The first 21 minutes looks good according to file sizes.
1800 Dial HV down to 0V then short electrode leads.
1800 Flash for 30s with DIB4 LEDs.
