2017/04/11 (Tuesday)

Previous Day

Setup: DIB1/3/4 → 3.2 MHz filters 3/1/2 → cable 3/1/2 →gender changer 3/1/2 → HVConn 1/3/2 → HV 1/2 → DCRC55/DCRC33
0830 Tower = 33.8 mK, Main Bath = 67.9%. Boil off rate: faster than slow mode (predicted level: 70.3%)
0835 Fill LN2 cold trap bath. Only partial probably, storage Dewar ran out

The table below is preparation for a dP/dI scan. We'll take one (or two?) series of 0-volt data at each of the settings below for DCRC1pA. The values are from the IbIs on Friday April 7. Also shown are appropriate driver offsets for a x4 driver gain.

DCRC1pA/DIB1pA/Side1pE
QETbias*prefactor [uA] QET bias setting [uA] Driver offset
10 124.8 -0.67
20 126.7 -0.63
30 129.1 -0.60
40 132.9 -0.56
50 139.2 -0.55

Plus we will use the standard settings for the other 4 channels:

Standard QET biases from most recent IbIs measurements:
channel QET bias prefactor QETbias*prefactor
DCRC1pB/DIB1pB/Side1pB 145.3 0.275 40
DCRC1pC/DIB1pC/Side1pD 130.4 0.302 40
DCRC2pC/DIB4pC/Side1pC -152.8 0.234 40
DCRC2pD/DIB4pD/Side1pF -151.7 0.264 40
1129 (ABORTED) Start sequence of 5, 1-hour data series of 1-sided 0V HV data with Frontend Gain = (20/20/20)/(-/4/4), OG = 4/2, QET biases = tables above (cycling through DCRC1pA values in order), with 1000 beginning randoms, no flashing, and a 15ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1 pA
1136 Stop data early because DCRC1pA is railed low.
1141 Start sequence of 5 3, 1-hour data series of 1-sided 0V HV data with Frontend Gain = (20/20/20)/(-/4/4), OG = 4/2, QET biases = tables above (cycling through DCRC1pA values in order), with 1000 beginning randoms, no flashing, and a 15ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1 pA
Note: forgot to turn triggering on at beginning, turned it on about 1-2 minutes after starting data
Note: second series begins 1252, after modifying the script QETBias_sweep.msl to change the driver offset each time.
1257 Adjust DCRC1pA trigger upward from 15 to 17, because there looked to be too many random triggers.
1301 Adjust DCRC1pA trigger upward from 17 to 18. A lot of re-triggering. DCRC1pA seems to have some oscillations.
1325 Fill LN2 cold trap bath.
1442 Stop data because DCRC2pC is railed
1446 Start sequence of 3 1, 1-hour data series of 1-sided 0V HV data with Frontend Gain = (20/20/20)/(-/4/4), OG = 4/2, QET biases = tables above (cycling through DCRC1pA values in order starting with 3rd row), with 1000 beginning randoms, no flashing, and a 15ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1 pA
1520 DCRC2pC is railed again, goddammit. Stop data again.
1523 Start sequence of 8, 1-hour data series of 1-sided 0V HV data with Frontend Gain = (20/20/20)/(-/4/4), OG = 4/2, QET biases = tables above (cycling through DCRC1pA values in order starting with 3rd row, then doing the whole list in order one more time), with 1000 beginning randoms, no flashing, and a 15ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1 pA
1635 Adjust DCRC1pA trigger downward from 18 to 15. (I wish I hadn't chosen DCRC1pA to trigger on…)
1637 Change to triggering on DCRC1pB with threshold 15.
1644 Adjust DCRC1pB trigger upward from 15 to 25. It was triggering constantly.
1648 Adjust DCRC1pB trigger downward from 25 to 23. Looked pretty good but no noise triggers, try to let a few in.
1648 Adjust DCRC1pB trigger downward from 23 to 22.
1743 Fill LN2 cold trap full.
