2016/12/18 (Sunday)

Previous Day

Status: fridge is warming, probably now at room temperature. Helium has been added to the IVC and the main bath vacuum jacket. 1K Pot needle valve is open. Mixture has been pumped out of LN2 trap, traps are at room temperature. Mixture is open to fridge and dump.
1205 Adjust excitation on LakeShore bridge up from 63 to 200 μV, and adjust resistance range. Now temperature reading more stable.
1210 MC = 20 mW, Sorb/MC(Cernox) = max(249.9K)/290 K, G1/G2 = 685/610 mbar. IVC > 1bar on cold cathode gauge but actually nearly zero on the mechanical gauge - this is a little confusing.
1215 Turn off MC heater.
1220 Currently mixture is open to dump through condenser speedivalve, still gate valve, v1, v3, v4, and pump is open to dump through v9. Close v4, turn on 3He pump, then open v6 to 13%. Now pumping mixture to dump.
1230 Check pressure in Main Bath vacuum jacket : about 1.2 mbar. Begin pumping out vacuum jacket with scroll pump.
1240 Still pressure below 40 mbar, open V6 further to pump mix to dump more quickly
1240 Main Bath vacuum jacket down to 0.12 mbar, open valve to turbo pump slightly to pull pressure down further
1250 Switch Main Bath vacuum jacket pumping over to turbo pump. Pumping pressure = 4 μbar.
1310 Turbo pressure 1.6 μbar, Main Bath vacuum jacket = 86 μbar (with pump valved out)
1310 G2 (dump) seems flat at 775.3 mbar. G1/P1 flat at 1.2/0.036 mbar. Stop pumping to dump. Close still gate valve, condenser valve, v1, v3, and v6. Close v9 then turn off 3He pump
G2 (Dump) = 775.3 mbar, Pbarometric = 30.57 inHg, Dump pressure (adjusted) = 797.3 mbar
