2015/12/10 (Thursday)

Previous Day

Setup: iZIP mode, DIB1/2/3 → cables → 3.2 MHz filters → DCRC55/33/50
Taking background data overnight with MIDAS. Base temperature at tower creeping downward by 0.2 mK overnight
note that temperature vi display still only shows 12 hours into the past. Maybe “# of points” needs to be entered with the vi off, then you need to restart it.
0815 Tower/MC(H35)/MC sensor/Cold Plate = 33.6/28.2/42.6/166 mK, Still = 1.25 K / 0.095 mbar, G1/G2 = 130/150 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.58 K / 4.0 mbar, Main bath = 32.7%
Last flash was at 03:25, expected the data to go longer than this. The last eight flashes have occurred ~1 hour apart as expected.
According to MIDAS ODB, there is still a -4/+4 V bias applied to the detector. Maybe data-taking crashed at some point.
Looking at MIDAS messages, there was a high frequency of messages (dozens per hour) for hours, but stopping at 04:23.
Actually yesterday's diary entry says twelve 1-hour cycles were started at 17:02, so the last one should have started at 04:02. (I'm not sure why it was set to end so early.) So maybe it ran correctly, but did not flash after the last series and did not set the biases back to 0/0.
Looking at series timestamps seems to back this up. It looks like it was run with a flash-wait-take sequence because the first series is about a half hour after data-taking began. And the final series, _0351, began about 30 minutes after the final flash at 03:25.
0835 Fill LN2 cold trap Dewar
0908 Start LHe transfer at 30.8%
0947 Checking pulses using MIDAS, no channels are railed. DIB1 phA's baseline seems to have shifted up to ~0.7V instead of ~(-0.7). Adjust driver offset to bring the baseline back down.
1035 End LHe transfer at 83.6%
1445 Main bath 78.9%
1451 Set phonon triggers to only trigger on DIB2 (DCRC33) phonon channels, set to yesterday's values.
1453 200Hz sinusoidal noise seen in pulses. Let pressure out of the dewar in hopes of removing the noise.
1525 200Hz sinusoidal noise came back. Release pressure from dewar again.
1703 Fill LN2 cold trap full.
Everything set to take +/-4V background data overnight. Midas being run manually, so may have to check how many series we took (and when they actually started).
from the raw data it looks like one (full, 30 minutes of data) series at 17:03, then an hour got skipped (?), then starting at 19:06 one series every hour, last series at 08:19.
Starting at 1703, 16 cycles of background data at +/-4V, FG=5/2/5, OG=3, 1000 initial randoms, 60 seconds/file; 30s flash and 25min cooldown in between series. Triggering only with DCRC2.
