0450 Conducted electrical check and found shorts to ground when checking QET and charge bias lines. SQUID A and SQUID A Return on DIB 1 also appear to be shorted to ground. Shorts appear to be capacitive in nature, implying that they are through the detector, thus making it difficult to pin-point the exact source. The short is rather small at around 4 nS. We have seen similar behaviour before during some of our tests with 100 mm IZIPs, and the shorts froze out at 4.2 K. It is possible that this will also happen this run.
Another possibility could be debris in the ebox feedthroughs from stripline work yesterday. Perhaps a good spray with nitrogen gas will solve the issue. Even if it doesn't, we could probably live with this and hope that it freezes out at cryogenic temperatures.
Now is probably not the best time to make this decision. It would be better to get a little rest and return refreshed. Place bag over bottom of IVC and leave for a few hours.
1630 Took off the E-Box flange, cleaned it with isopropanol, blew it with nitrogen, and replaced the flange.
1800 Conducted electrical check. Everything all the measurements match prediction. There seems to be higher resistance (~1nS) on the previously found shorts to ground.
2010 IVC sealed up. Start evacuating IVC.
