1000 Filled LN2 cold trap.
1020 Plugged in DCRC31 and attached new copper shield to it.
Powered board and zapped SQUIDs.
1026 Fed Cricket 4 pellets (*sob*).
1039 Apparently DCRC32 powered down. Not sure when this occurred. Re-powering and going to zap SQUIDs again.
1125 All the boards have been powered, SQUIDs on dibs 2 and 3 have been zapped, and the timing link has been established. Applying the DCRC settings found previously and examining the channels, it seems that Channel A on Dib 1 is still noisy. Whenever there is a pulse, it is clean, but the pulses don't appear as often as in other channels. The baseline definitely interferes with the pulses. I think it would be best not to trigger on this channel.
1200 Board 31 looks AWFUL. We have a new shield in place and it's been taped down with copper tape and it's touching the power supply, but now only one channel seems to be showing pulses and half of them saturate. The other channels look like they have zero QET bias applied to them.
1313 Several of the QET biases have to be changed for some reason: A1, A2, and some on Dib 3, though that has to be confirmed again. Unplugged DCRC 31, made sure shield was fitting correctly on Dib 2, plugged DCRC31 back in, attached its properly, and powered it up.
Will go ahead and zap all the SQUIDs on all three boards, set up the timing link, and load previously determined QET biases.
After this, powered down DCRC 32 and 33 to study DCRC 31 by itself.
1452 Removed small shield from covering power supply. Pulses on Dib 3 seem to be a bit clearer.
1502 Remove shield entirely - signal on Dib 3 is really bad.
Reapplied shield and Chs. A and C on Dib 3 look really good, but B and D look bad.
1552 Did a lot of trial runs with and without the shield, and reapplying the copper tape. The channels on Dib 3 are hard to keep clean in terms of noise.
1603 Powered up DCRC 32 and 33 and reset timing link.
Channels B3 and D3 are too noisy to be good triggers. A3 and C3 seem okay.
All channels but C2 on dib 2 are fine to trigger on.
On dib 1, A1 is not a good channel to trigger on.
Channel New QET bias [uA]
A3 -60
C3 -65
D3 -90
1740 Filled LN2 cold trap.
1815 Fed Cricket 4 pellets.
2248 Filled LN2 cold trap.
2255 Begin taking data. First flash for an hour, cool for 2 hours. Dib 1/2 biased at +/- 4 V and 6 V. Each series is 120 minutes, with 6 seconds of flashing in between and 20 minutes cool down. End with 30 minutes of flashing. Trigger on B1, C1, D1, A2, A3, C3 at 25 ADC bin (avoiding the noisier channels on Dib 3, A1, and outer channels).
The purpose of this data set is to see if the data is similar to G103 data, which would be preferable. Then we can try and take data with the Cf-252 source again.
Apparently the flashing raised the temperature up to 500 mK. Guess LED 1 on Dib 3 was still being used despite having 0 current.
