0000 Mixing chamber is very high at 798 mK and cooling is excruciatingly slow. I suspect that most of the He-3 content was extracted from the mixture. No point carrying on. Pump mixture out of dump and start warming up to 4.2 K.
0010 Fill N2 cold trap full.
Stop 1 K pot.
0020 While I'm here, waiting for my bus, I might as well turn on the mixing chamber heater. Power supplied 10.0 mW.
0035 Turn off mixing chamber heater.
0955 Fed Cricket 3 pellets.
1012 Filled LN2 cold trap.
1212 Turned on Mixing Chamber Heater (10mW)
1400 Turn off mixing chamber heater. We have recovered 687 mbar of mixture. The difference can probably (hopefully) be explained by difference in dump temperature.
Start evacuating IVC in preparation for leak check.
1650 Isolate turbo pump and conduct leak check. Helium leak rate is 2.0E-6 mbar l/s. Isolate IVC and pump out lines to leak checker. Leave for a few hours to check for leaks from main bath to IVC.
2325 Fill N2 cold trap full.
2335 Helium background leak level in pipes leading to IVC 8.4E-10 mbar l/s. Open up IVC, and helium leak rate is 2.7E-6 mbar l/s.
2340 Close off IVC, pump out lines to leak checker and leave overnight. Mixing chamber temperature 7.12 K.
