| All figures below show order for individual charges: Top row- Q1, Q2; Bottom row- Q3, Q4 |
| Cut applied to the following analyses: Primary charge channel cut |
| No strict Chi2 cut was applied to spectra - only simple threshold cuts |
| For brevity on this page, I supplied links to charge, chi2, and charge stdv. vs event time. |

| 1800 | LS370 shows the error “VMIX OVL” error from time to time at temperature reading ~80mK. It seems there are a lot differential noise from the thermometer. The dewar is well shielded and there is no magnet in the fridge. The thermometer was taped well to the 30mK can. It's unlikely the noise is due to vibration of the wires. It's easy to understand there is common mode noise if the thermometer is shorted to the chassis. But I don't quite understand why there is differential noise. |
|---|---|
| Anyway, first check if there is common mode noise in the signal. Turn off the “common mode noise reduction” in LS370. The temperature reading drops from 80mK to 76mK. It's likely the thermometer is shorted to the chassis. | |
| Check the thermometer lid to chassis resistance using Fluke 177 with auto range |
| I+ – G | 2 kΩ |
|---|---|
| I- – G | 163.4 Ω |
| V+ – G | 1.9 kΩ |
| V- – G | 132 Ω |
| V+ – I+ | 293.5 Ω |
| V- – I- | 293.1 Ω |
| V+ – V- | 2.1 kΩ |
| I+ – I- | 2.1 kΩ |
| 1815 | V- and I- are shorted to chassis. The thermometer was heated up a lot when measuring the resistance. There is still a lot differential noise stops me from using the smallest range to measure the resistance using LS370. Try monitoring the VMIX and see if there is any clue. |
|---|---|
| When a BNC cable connects the oscilloscope and the “monitor” connector of LS370, the temperature jumped from ~76mK to ~74mK. Before this I already connected the cable shield to the chassis of the thermometry breakout box. This should not happen unless the LS370 signal shield is not connected to the cable shield and the shield integrity is broken. Check the cable connecting the breakout box and LS370. | |
| Found the cable shield is unsoldered from a pin on the DB15 connector. The shield wire is wrapped by Teflon tape. This breaks the shield integrity. Resolder them together. | |
| Put the cable back. Temperature reading drops to 62.2mK. And I can use the 63.2kΩ range to measure the 42kΩ resistance without overloading the mixer. The reading is much quieter and stabler. | |
| 2049 | 07111206_2048_F0001: Flash detector for 6s and cooldown for 20min. Will take Ba-133 data at +4, +6, +8, +10, +13V biases. |
