0200 Perform room temperature electrical check: looks fine.
0400 Start pumping on IVC.
1330 Helium background level is rather high at 5E-6 mbar l/s, even after pumping overnight on IVC. Try flushing with nitrogen gas.
1500 Flushing with nitrogen gas helped a little, reducing the background to 1E-6 mbar l/s. However, the last few cycles have garnered no improvement.
Fill IVC with 540 mbar of nitrogen gas. Leave it to circulate while cleaning nitrogen cold traps.
Close valve 6 on IGH, and condenser line speedivalve and gate valve to isolate mixing chamber lines in fridge.
1510 Close valves 1, 5, 12a & 12b to stop pumping micture into dump.
Close valve 9 to isolate dump.
Pull cold traps out of liquid nitrogen reservoir. Open valves 7, 11a, 11b, 2a & 5a to open line to He-4 pump. Ensure valve behind He-4 pump is set to exhaust.
1530 Pump nitrogen out of IVC. Helps a little: background helium leak rate lies just under 1E-6 mbar l/s.
Pump out N2 gas with turbo pump.
1540 Keep flushing with nitrogen gas over half-an-hour.
1710 Conducted three cycles to clean cold trap. Pressure in P2: 1000 mbar; 6.5 mbar; 3.2 mbar. Opened valve 2 periodically to pump out line leading to leaky valve 12a.
Fill N2 cold trap full. Place cold traps back into reservoir.
Pump nitrogen gas out of IVC. Finish flushing IVC. Background helium leak rate 9.5E-7 mbar l/s at 0.01 mbar.
1730 Start cryocleaning mixture. Valve 6 open 13.7%.
1940 IVC pressure 5.4E-5 mbar. Isolate turbo pump in preparation for leak check.
1955 Background helium leak level a little high at 7.5E-7 mbar l/s. For such a short run, this should be good enough. Start spray test.
2015 Spray tested flanges. Background helium leak level dropped to 7.3E-7 mbar l/s: no gross leak. For such a short run as this, a leak rate of 1E-6 mbar l/s would be acceptable.
Raise dewar.
2020 Cryocleaning has stagnated. Open valve 6 to 14.0%.
2130 Pump and flush dewar.
2140 Overpressurise dewar with He-4 gas. Background helium leak level 6.5E-7 mbar l/s. No increase witnessed: no gross leak.
2145 Evacuate 1 K pot.
2150 Feed 4.6 mbar of N2 exchange gas into IVC.
2200 Start LN2 transfer.
