0913 Stop flashing the detector.
0933 Shield of DCRC33 was put on. Then powered up DCRC33. Tower temperature 77.4mK.
0951 Filled N2 cold trap. Tower temperature 61.5mK.
0954 Start taking data 07110329_0954_F0001. -4V on Q1-4. Trigger: Q1(30ADC) OR Q2(28ADC) OR Q3(30ADC) OR Q4(30ADC); coincidence time 50us. Trace length 1024, lookback time 100us. DCRC33 was on DIB2 and was mapped to ZIP1. DCRC30 was the master in timing.
The run 07110329_0954 was stopped after 30min. 8 files were taken.
1040 Created file DAQSettings_2011_0329_1040.xml. In the file I swabbed the tow DIBs, and DIB1 was ZIP1 and DIB was ZIP2. I will take some data and see if this would make a difference in the data, and to figure out the the DAQ treats all detectors equally.
1119 Started to take data 07110329_1119_F0001. -4V on Q1-4. Trigger: Q1(30ADC) OR Q2(30ADC) OR Q3(30ADC) OR Q4(30ADC); coincidence time 50us. Trace length 1024, lookback time 100us. DCRC33 was on DIB2 and was mapped to ZIP2.
1151 The run stopped at file 8 and auto flashing was started. Stop the DAQ to let the flashing continue.
1416 Stop flashing. Set DCRC33 as master and DCRC30 as slave in timing.
1503 Start taking data 07110329_1503_F0001. Using DAQSettings_2011_0328_1909.xml. -4V on Q1-4. Trigger: Q1(30ADC) OR Q2(30ADC) OR Q3(30ADC) OR Q4(30ADC); coincidence time 50us. Trace length 1024, lookback time 100us. DCRC33 was on DIB2 and was mapped to ZIP1. DCRC33 was the master in timing.
1544 The run 07110329_1503 stopped at file 8. Flashed for 10min, and now cooling down. Stop the DAQ to let it cool.
1827 I didn't see systematic differences after swapping salve and master in timing. Flash the detector again before take neutralization data.
1836 Filled N2 cold trap.
2239 Stop flashing detector.
2325 Start taking data 07110329_2325_F0001. -4V on Q1-4. Trigger: Q1(30ADC) OR Q2(30ADC) OR Q3(30ADC) OR Q4(30ADC); coincidence time 50us. Trace length 1024, lookback time 100us. DCRC33 was on DIB2 and was mapped to ZIP1, and was master. Tower temperature 58mK.

Series 20110329_0954

In the sereis 20110329_0954, I used DIB2 as ZIP1 and DIB1 as ZIP2. The channel mapps now becomes Q1→Z1Qi, Q2→Z2Qi, Q3→Z1Qo, and Q4→Z2Qo.

The cuts are defined as

  • cQ# = max([Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4], [], 2)==#
  • cQCchisq = cQ1chisq & cQ2chisq & cQ3chisq & cQ4chisq; these cuts are not tuned, I didn't use them in the plots anyway.
  • cE = 50<Qsum.

Series 20110329_1119

In the sereis 20110329_1119, unlike in all the previous series, I used DIB1 as ZIP1 and DIB2 as ZIP2. The channel mapps now becomes Q1→Z2Qi, Q2→Z1Qi, Q3→Z2Qo, and Q4→Z1Qo. It seems the DAQ vi treats the two detectors equally.

The cuts are defined as

  • cQ# = max([Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4], [], 2)==#
  • cQCchisq = cQ1chisq & cQ2chisq & cQ3chisq & cQ4chisq; these cuts are not tuned, I didn't use them in the plots anyway.
  • cE = 50<Qsum.

Series 20110329_1503, DCRC33 as master in timing

In the sereis 20110329_1503, DIB1 as ZIP2 and DIB2 as ZIP1. The channel mapping is Q1→Z2Qi, Q2→Z1Qi, Q3→Z2Qo, and Q4→Z1Qo. I used DCRC33 as the master in this series to see if the slave/master swapping would make things different. The data show that there is no difference between master and slave.

The cuts are defined as

  • cQ# = max([Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4], [], 2)==#
  • cQCchisq = cQ1chisq & cQ2chisq & cQ3chisq & cQ4chisq; these cuts are not tuned, I didn't use them in the plots anyway.
  • cE = 50<Qsum.

DAQ configurations comparison

Fig. 3.1a. DCRC30 on DIB2 (Q1 & Q3, ZIP1), master; DCRC33 on DIB1 (ZIP2). Fig. 3.1b. DCRC30 on DIB1 (ZIP2), master; DCRC33 on DIB2 (ZIP1)
Fig. 3.1c. DCRC30 on DIB1 (ZIP2), slave; DCRC33 on DIB2 (ZIP1), master. Fig. 3.1d. DCRC30 on DIB1 (ZIP1), master; DCRC33 on DIB2 (ZIP2)
  1. DCRC30 vs DCRC33 (3.1a vs 3.1b): I swapped two boards on the ebox and kept all other settings unchanged. DCRC33 seemed to perform better in picking up the spectrum lines. Q1 and Q3 had much fewer primary events. The cause is unclear.
  2. Master vs Slave (3.1b vs 3.1c): swapping master and slave in timing link did not show obvious effect on the data.
  3. ZIP1 vs ZIP2. (3.1b vs 3.1d): swapping detector 1 and detector 2 in DAQ settings didn't seem to affect the data.

Conclusion: DCRC33 on DIB2 seemed to be the best configuration. For convenience, set DIB2 (Q1&3) as ZIP1 and DIB1(Q2&4) as ZIP2; and use DCRC30 as master.

Series 07110329_2325 Neutralization

The cuts are defined as

  • cQ# = max([Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4], [], 2)==#
  • cQCchisq = cQ1chisq & cQ2chisq & cQ3chisq & cQ4chisq; these cuts are not tuned, I didn't use them in the plots anyway.
  • cE = 50<Qsum.
