1028 Start to leak check IVC. Found He gas cylinder was empty
1047 Changed He gas cylinder. IVC He BG 6.4E-9cc/s. No leak found from outside to IVC.
1146 Raised dewar.
Evacuate main bath and fill in He gas. No leak found to IVC.
1400 Start to transfer liquid N2.
1407 Fill IVC with 10mbar N2 exchange gas
Fill N2 cold trap full.
1730 Level meter resistance 1.31 kΩ. Stop LN2 transfer.
1900 Isolate leak checker and hook up to vent on IGH in preparation for leak checking mixing chamber lines.
2040 Background He leak level 2.8E-7 mbar l/s; vent speedivalve closed; He-4 pump on; valves 2a, 4a & 5a open.
Leak check flanges leading up to vent: no leak.
Turn off He-4 pump and open vent speedivalve. Background He leak level shoots up to 1E-3 mbar l/s, decreasing gradually. Plateaus at 2.8E-6 mbar l/s.
2125 Leak check all flanges from IGH to: 1 K pot speedivalve; He-4 pump; blocked-off IVC port; and main bath port. Leak rate rises to 3.8E-6 mbar l/s. However, there is no spike, indicating that this is the background level. Safe to assume there is no leak in this section.
Close valves 2a, 4a & 5a.
Close gate valve and condenser line speedivalve to isolate fridge.
Close all valves on IGH.
2155 Open valve 9 to keep an eye on pressure in dump with G2.
Open valve 7. Background He leak rate increases rapidly, and drops just as quickly, plateauing at 3.2E-7 mbar l/s.
Open valve 2. Background He leak rate jumps to 6.9E-7 mbar l/s.
2200 Open valve 1 to leak check condenser line and helium cold trap. Check performed on all flanges and joints from IGH to condenser line speedivalve. No leak found; background He leak rate 7.9E-7 mbar l/s.
2210 Close valve 1. Open valve 12a to leak check cold trap 1. Background He leak rate increases slightly to 1.7E-6 mbar l/s. This is probably due to the contaminants in the trap from cryocleaning.
2220 Spray 4 flanges: 2 in and out at IGH; 2 in and out at cold trap 1. He leak rate falls to 1E-6 mbar l/s. No leak.
Strange that pressure in G1 is 1 bar. Perhaps the line is rather constrictive, or in other words the impedance is high. Perhaps G1 is not reading the correct pressure: possible as it doesn't seem to fall much below this value when pumping mixture into dump.
2235 Close valve 12a. Leak rate drops to 5.5E-7 mbar l/s.
Open valve 13a to check cold trap 2. Leak rate rises to 2.6E-6 mbar l/s.
2245 Spray 4 flanges: 2 in and out at IGH; 2 in and out at cold trap 2. He leak rate falls to 1.2E-6 mbar l/s. No leak.
2310 Close valves 13a and 2. Open valve 8 to take a look at pumping line. He leak rate 2.3E-6 mbar l/s.
2355 Leak check all flanges from main pumping line on IGH to gate valve via He-3 pump. He leak rate 6.9E-7 mbar l/s. No leak.
