Run Diary

0102 Start Am-241 run series 07100817_0102
0109 Fill N2 cold trap full
0915 Stop run 07100817_0102 at file number 44 Event 442239
Series 07100817_0102 settings
0930 Fill N2 cold trap full
1756 Measure Rn by sending a triangle wave down the QET bias line and channel by channel to avoid DCRC calibration problems
Triangle wave IbIs measurement, the resistance values are meaning less due to an unknown factor in bias
All data and matlab fig files can be found at here
1840 Measure Tc channel by channel, now I can use HP3325A bias down to 1mV, which was 10mV. The bias current is 1.5uA peak to peak. Sin wave 50 Hz
2119 Measured Tc all the channels. The temperature gradient can be controlled to some extent when heating up the tower; there is less control when cooling down the tower. If the Tc need to be measured precisely, the crystal and the thermometer need to be at equilibrium.
Tc measurement by send a sin wave channel by channel
Channel Tc (mK ) Average (mK)
A2 87, 91.8, 87.8, 90.8, 87.4, 87.5, 92.2, 88 89.1
B2 104.6, 104.6, 104.6, 104.1, 103, 104.3 104.2
C2 88.2, 93.9, 88.3, 90.6, 88, 94 90.5
D2 88.2, 87.8, 88.3 88.1
2130 There is only 3.8% helium left in the fridge. Since the temperature can not be controlled precisely at the moment and Ic measurement are pretty much waiting for temperature to stabilize, I will not do the Ic measurement this time. Hopefully when temperature is controlled in close loop mode, the temperature waiting time can be reduced.
2133 I'll warm up the fridge
Close needle valve, isolate 1K pot
Pump mixture out of fridge from both ends and the cold trap
Fill N2 cold trap full
Switch He-4 pump exhaust to 'Exhaust'
Power off DCRC
