Combating Neutralisation Loss by Flipping Biases

Data Collected in Run

07110605_2353 to 07110606_0815

Information about run

Ba-133

Bias initially -2.5 V DIB1; +2.5 V DIB2 but flipped to +2.5 V DIB1; -2.5 V DIB2 after twenty minutes. Bias flips continued every twenty minutes. Charge only (did trigger on the phonon channels). No flashing was done during this eight hour run.

Cuts Used

Cuts were made to limit both the Qpartition and the chisq values.

Data Plots

Figure 1: Qsum vs. Event Time.

Notice that Qsum spectrum peaks are much more apparent on side 1 than side 2, especially in the first two hours of the run.

Findings

It seems that flipping bias does reduce the dispersion of Qzpart as time increases.
