  • Lab Update - Run 76 in progress
    • as a test, after the last 5K pumpout, we closed the IVC and let it sit for 25 hours at >5K before starting cooling.
      • Normally temperature spikes start 14-15 hours after cooling to base; this time they started around 7 hours earlier.
      • Normally phonon channels are affected by helium films ~55 hours after cooling to base; this time it happened around 19 hours earlier
      • This contradicts the hypothesis that our helium problem is a superleak (or at least that it is entirely a superleak)
      • It's still possible that the leak is from the dilution unit rather than from the room air through the stripline elbow. The fact that the timing is quite regular despite various interventions on the 300K side makes it kinda feel that way. OTOH the stripline elbow has been a chronic problem. Back on the first hand, the particulars of the current phenomenon are different from previous runs.
    • Still need to test whether MIDAS works on CentOS. This is a copy of our current MIDAS modified by Himangshu to be compatible with CentOS. We also have scheduled a Zoom meeting with Belina next week, to answer DAQ questions. If we have the DAQ working by then we will ask her about the upgraded MIDAS that we haven't quite got working.

      • batchmode.py script: This script will process a given list of datasets. The script runs the proc_config.py script with arguments as series that need to process.
