- Lab Update - Run 76 in progress
- Investigating whether our He leak is actually a superleak, rather than a leak at the stripline elbow (or maybe a little of both).
- nothing we've done at the elbow has changed the timing of the He-film phenomena:
- temperature spikes begin 14-15 hours after starting circulation
- He films affect phonon channels 54-57 hours after starting circulation
- This time after we stop pumping on the IVC we'll leave it closed at >5K for a day, then start cooling the next day. If the problems don't start any sooner than normal, it will suggest that the leak doesn't start until the mixture is superfluid.
- If we have a superleak we can try to fix it by tightening the MC indium seal. If that doesn't work we can try redoing that seal.
- Progress on getting MIDAS working on CentOS
- we are again at a deadline for cutting off our access to SL5 (currently our DAQ only works on SL5)
- Himangshu and I worked on the problem more this weekend. Copying the old MIDAS DAQ and trying to modify it to work on CentOS
- Progress:
- MIDAS starts, browser interface works.
- Can copy ODB settings, and they are persistent.
- Can communicate with DCRCs and change settings on them.
- Himangshu originally built everything from his own account - this can produce issues with permissions. Now he has redone it using the sudo account
spa-u-cdmssoft, which was created to avoid permission issues.
- Still to do:
- be able to start runs (seem to be close…)
- get pulse viewer working.
