Updated on March 2024
To make new modifications in the cdmsbats code, we copied the repository to /home/spa-u-cdmssoft folder and run it as the spa-u-cdmssoft user. New cdmsbats folder is named “cdms_bats_umn”. Procedure to include a new channel mapping is outline below.
Login as the cdmssoft user
sudo -u spa-u-cdmssoft -i
Load the cdmsbats environment variables
source cdmsbats_setup.sh
Goto the channel mapping file to edit
cd cdms_bats_umn/BatCommon/datareader nano RawDataReader.cxx
After making the necessary changes, save it and then use make commands to recompile cdmsbats
cd cdms_bats_umn/BatCommon make clean make
Similarly do the same inside BatRoot and BatNoise to recompile the executables. The rq files are in /home/spa-u-cdmssoft/rq directory and noisefiles in /home/spa-u-cdmssoft/noisefiles
Earlier Setup in cdms2
To run CDMSBATS, use the following version of CDMSBATS in the cdms2 server
/data/chocula/neog/cdmsbats
A sample setup script is available at
/data/chocula/neog/mydataproc/cdmsbats_setup.sh
In the folder, /data/chocula/neog/mydataproc the file proc_config.py contains the steps from raw to processed dataset.
To configure for a new run/dataset, use one of the old config files from
/data/chocula/neog/cdmsbats/UserSettings/BatRootSettings/analysis
and make a copy of it. Edit the file and use it for analysis configurations
To make processing configurations, copy and edit one of the files in
/data/chocula/neog/cdmsbats/UserSettings/BatRootSettings/processing
The processed data is stored in
/data/chocula/neog/rq
Sample code execution:
python3 proc_config.py --series 07240208_1548
