Pan 43 Background

This page is a place for any information to help understand the backgrounds (gamma & neutron) in Pan 43.

On March 17, 2017, a 21 hour background measurement of the Pan43 Lab space was taken using the HPGe detector and the Maestro gamma spectrum software. The resulting spectrum is stored in the spreadsheet here: 170317_3kv_21hours_10usec.xls It is in the standard spe file format.

A quick look at the spectrum is shown below where the potassium and thorium lines can be clearly seen as well as many smaller lines.
