Warm End Stripline Diverter boards

Motivation

These boards were originally designed to allow individual lines on a stripline to be diverted to deal with stripline breaks. When a line goes bad, it is re-routed through a spare line (generally QET returns) using a combination of boards at either end of the stripline. The warm-end board was designed with Dsub50 plug/sockets to mate with the inside of the ebox flange. This design makes such a board also able to mate with any of the room temperature cables and components between the ebox and DCRC. Because of this, warm end diverter boards can be used as general switchboards to shut off and rewire any lines to any other.

Description

The basic diverter board consists of 2 dsub connections and a set of DIP switches which can be used to disconnect any of the 50 lines. The switch to line mapping can be found here: diverter_pinout.ods

  • One board has been modified to swap phonon channels C and D. This is to correct for a wiring mistake in the HV bias board.
  • A pair of boards (marked I and II) have been modified for use with the 150mm contact free Si device. Both now have a red DIP switch to connect either the IR led or the UV led lines to the DCRC. Switches 1,2 connect IR LEDs 1,2 to DCRC LED 1,2 and switches 3,4 connect UV LEDs 1,2 to DCRC LED 1,2. As such, one can turn on switches 1,2 for both IR, switches 3,4 for both UV, or switches 1,4 (or 2,3) for an IR and an UV.
  • In addition to the LED switching, board II has been modified to connect detector side QETD returns to DCRC side QETA returns. This is because the detector bias needed to be wired to QETD returns, but the HV board biases via QETA ret. Note, this configuration, assumes board I will be attached to HV box DIB1 and board II to HVbox DIB2.
